    Hi there and welcome to my blog! Thanks for stopping by! Here you will find recent photos of my fabulous clients, and probably some of my kids too. Ok, well I try to keep the kids to a minimum, but sometimes I can't resist.
    I love photographing people, whether it is an important event like a wedding, or just everyday family life. I like to think of my camera as a little magic box with which I can capture memories so you can hold onto them for always.

Pierson Family Portraits | Old Sacramento

Do you ever go to Old Sacramento over the holidays?  It is so festive.  There are Christmas trees all over and it just generally seems to put you in the holiday mood!

Also, a great spot for family portraits this time of year.  The portraits below are from a recent session with my cousin Doug and his wife Gayle and their kids, all grown up now.  Doug’s son, David, is enlisted and currently stationed back east.  However, he was on leave for 10 days and he and his wife Sarra came to California for  Thanksgiving.  David is about to get shipped off for a tour in Afghanistan very soon.  So everyone was so happy that he could come home.  It was awesome to see him and meet his new wife.

Family Portrait Party, Part 2 | Rancho Murieta, CA

Hi all, hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving holiday, and were able to spend time with those most important to you.  Now that I am back at my desk, I thought I should share Part 2 of the Portrait Party that was hosted by the fabulous Marissa.  The Portrait Party took place at a public park near Marissa’s home.  There were snacks and refreshments and since the families all knew each other or had some connection, it really was like a party.  People were still hanging out, having a good time, even when we departed:)

Marissa, for coordinating and hosting the party, received a free portrait session.  Plus she received credit towards prints and other fabulous products, such as wall art and image folios, as a result of the success of the Portrait Party.  If this is something you might be interested in, please let us know.  We would love to share more details with you!!!

Holiday Card Season

It is that time of year again…the holidays.  It came so fast.  I can hardly believe that next week is Thanksgiving.  Time for holiday cheer and Christmas Cards!  I love doing Christmas cards for my clients.  I had one unexpected client this year, my good friend Erin, who is also a photographer as well as a maker of hand crafted cards (Homemade Cards by Erin).

You might think it would be easy for her to put together a card.  She has all the skills:) However, there are two primary reasons why hiring a photographer is worth considering:

#1:  It is hard to be in the picture and take the picture.  I know I have tried.

#2.  You can have custom cards, made just for you, in a speedy fashion (without spending hours and hours doing it yourself, particularly if you are sending 150 cards as Erin is).

Family Portrait Party, Part 1 | Rancho Murieta, CA

Have you ever heard of a Portrait Party?  It is a fun way to have your family portraits done, as well as your friends and family, at a place of your choice and at a more affordable cost!  Recently my good friend Marion, of Marion Charlotte Photography, and I teamed up to photograph several families. Our host, Marissa, invited her friends and family to join us.  Each family had approximately a half hour for the photo session. Everyone had a great time and now have awesome pictures to hang on their wall or do their Christmas cards with!

Van Brunt Family-Maternity Portraits

When Elena first contacted me about maternity portraits in early September, she mentioned that she really wanted to have them taken at a farm or pumpkin patch.  Maybe somewhere like Apple Hill, which to me sounded like a lot of fun.  However, there was a problem…  her little girl was due early October and none of the farms seemed to open until a few days before her due date.  It seemed too risky, so we found an alternate location, and good thing too, because their little girl did arrive a week early.

We were, however, still able to achieve those fall colors, and even some fiery orange colors as you will see as you scroll down.  So not a pumpkin patch, but equally as gorgeous, wouldn’t you agree?

Congratulations to the Van Brunt Family on the arrival of your little girl!!!  I am sure she will bring much joy and sweetness to your lives :O)
