  • Welcome to my blog!

Hi there and welcome to my blog! Thanks for stopping by! Here you will find recent photos of my fabulous clients, and probably some of my kids too. Ok, well I try to keep the kids to a minimum, but sometimes I can't resist.
I love photographing people, whether it is an important event like a wedding, or just everyday family life. I like to think of my camera as a little magic box with which I can capture memories so you can hold onto them for always.
Hope you will stay awhile, relax, and enjoy!

Family Portrait Party, Part 1 | Rancho Murieta, CA

Have you ever heard of a Portrait Party?  It is a fun way to have your family portraits done, as well as your friends and family, at a place of your choice and at a more affordable cost!  Recently my good friend Marion, of Marion Charlotte Photography, and I teamed up to photograph several families. Our host, Marissa, invited her friends and family to join us.  Each family had approximately a half hour for the photo session. Everyone had a great time and now have awesome pictures to hang on their wall or do their Christmas cards with!

Here are a few photos from the afternoon.  Stay tuned for Part 2!

And if you have any interest in hosting your very own portrait party, please get in touch with me at garonow@sbcglobal.net!

Van Brunt Family-Maternity Portraits

When Elena first contacted me about maternity portraits in early September, she mentioned that she really wanted to have them taken at a farm or pumpkin patch.  Maybe somewhere like Apple Hill, which to me sounded like a lot of fun.  However, there was a problem…  her little girl was due early October and none of the farms seemed to open until a few days before her due date.  It seemed too risky, so we found an alternate location, and good thing too, because their little girl did arrive a week early.

We were, however, still able to achieve those fall colors, and even some fiery orange colors as you will see as you scroll down.  So not a pumpkin patch, but equally as gorgeous, wouldn’t you agree?

Congratulations to the Van Brunt Family on the arrival of your little girl!!!  I am sure she will bring much joy and sweetness to your lives :O)

Kevin + Lisa Wedding | Shangri-La, Downieville

Lisa and Kevin got married this past Saturday right next to the magnificent Yuba River at the Shangri La Resort in Downieville.  It was a spectacular autumn day to compliment all of the fall details infused in the wedding.  Lisa and Kevin only gave themselves a few months to plan the wedding.  And while you would never know it, as all the details were fabulous, I think it allowed them to not lose focus on what was the more important thing to both of them and that is their family.  Lisa’s two children comprised the wedding party as ring bearer and flower girl.  And Jessica, Lisa’s daughter, read an excerpt from the Velveteene Rabbit, about being Real.  So clearly important to them.

Lisa looked amazingly gorgeous and Kevin so very handsome.  Their happiness was so very transparent and Real.  Congratulations Lisa and Kevin!  I hope happiness follows you wherever the journey may take you!

Anna & Girls Portraits | Nevada City, CA

I am so excited to share these pictures.  I had so much fun creating this portrait shoot for my friend Anna and her two girls.  I had this vision of a tea party in my head that just wouldn’t go away (probably from reading the Fancy Nancy tea party book so many times to Zoey), so I made some cupcakes and brought over some decorations and set up a fun little scene for the girls to play and to see if I could make my vision come to life  :) So awesome.  We also took some more traditional portraits as well.

When Anna and I first talked about doing this it was way back in the spring.   But we decided to wait until after she had recuperated from some health issues and surgery that she recently went through.  As I was showing her the portraits last night, she mentioned that she was so glad that we had done this and that the girls would always have these pictures of the three of them together.  And while  her health is much better, there is nothing like a serious illness to bring life into perspective.  It really is about the little things and living in the moment.  I am so happy I was able to preserve this moment, this phase, this memory, for Anna and her two beautiful girls!
